Using Vodafone's Mobile Connect datacard gives you self-contained internet and email access on your laptop, without the need for any specialised technical knowledge. Large email attachments can be downloaded quickly and easily, making mobile working a practical reality.
You can even stay connected whenever you want, because you'll only pay for the amount of data you send and receive. Quite simply, it means that you can work from out of the office without compromising. There's no searching for a telephone socket and there are no embarrassing snail-paced downloads.
If your business already provides staff with secure remote access to email and files on your computer network, it's likely that you can offer the same services using a Mobile Connect datacard without needing any additional hardware or software.
Quad Band
The Option 3G QUAD card is a dual mode, quad band card, which means as well as operating on 3G networks it can roam onto GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800 and GSM1900 networks in over 150 countries world-wide. (Please check first as 3G and GPRS roaming is not available in all countries). Roaming charges apply.
Choose your Costs
When you buy your Vodafone 3G Mobile Connect datacard, you'll be able to choose between four monthly packages depending on your estimated usage. Each package includes a 'bundle' of data usage for both 3G and GPRS every month, with additional usage charged separately.
Coverage
Vodafone Broadband 3G (HSDPA) is a brand new technology and coverage is available in key towns and cities. Coverage is continually being extended but is currently available to over 72% of the UK population. When outside of a Vodafone 3G area, your data card will automatically switch to GPRS which covers 99% of the UK population.
GPRS
GPRS is an "always on" Mobile Internet service that is typically 2 to 3 times faster than traditional GSM data. Effectively being online continuously, there is no delay due to dialling up to your service provider and GPRS technology means that you are only charged by the amount of data you transfer, not how long you are online for.
Standard Circuit Switched Data
This card can also connect if required using standard dial up connectivity known as circuit switched or just standard GSM data. This is exactly like a regular landine modem in that a call is made to a number and you are charged for the entire duration of the call. This connectivity option is useful if you need to connect to a specific server or are in a country where GPRS or 3G access is not available. Nearly all GSM networks will support this basic form of connectivity which operates at 9.6kbps. High speed circuit switched data calls operating at up to 28.8kbps are also supported by the card, although this is subject to network support.
